How to properly care for your tattoo

Our advice for your tattoo aftercare.

Congratulations on your new tattoo, and thank you for trusting our team! Here are our recommendations for taking good care of it.

Immediate protection with second skin Immediately after the tattoo, we apply a protective film called second skin. This film acts as a barrier to protect the skin from bacteria and prevent the ink from getting damaged.

Important: - Keep the second skin on for 24 to 72 hours maximum (so no more than 3 days).

- If you experience itching, intense redness, or discomfort, you can remove it earlier.

How to remove the second skin:
To remove the second skin, do it in the shower with warm water to make the process easier. Let the water run over the area to properly moisten the film. Then, start gently peeling off the edge without forcing it. Pull slowly in the direction of the skin to avoid damaging the tattooed area. Once removed, gently clean the tattoo with water (or PH-neutral soap), avoiding rubbing.

After removing the second skin:
Let your skin air dry or lightly pat it with a clean towel (do not rub!). Apply a thin layer of coconut oil. It’s a natural option that I recommend as it is moisturizing, soothing, and has antibacterial properties. Repeat this application 2 to 3 times a day during the first few weeks, until the skin is fully healed.

What to avoid:
Do not keep the second skin on for more than 3 days. Do not scratch or rub your tattoo, even if it itches. Avoid sun exposure, baths, saunas, and swimming pools during the healing period (about 2 to 3 weeks).

For larger tattoos or more extensive fill-ins:
We have a special care solution at the shop for more intense skin regeneration. This ointment is enriched with vitamins to nourish and protect the skin.

If you have any questions or concerns about your tattoo's healing process, don't hesitate to contact us.
